What Nike, Tarantino, and MrBeast Have in Common
I’ve watched 2 limited series and 3 movies in the last three days.
Vikings: Valhalla (a season and a half)
Butcher’s Crossing
Conclave
All the Light We Cannot See
And just finished Carry-On.
Now… I might be spoiling myself and wasting time.
And yeah, that’s why this email’s coming to you late in the day.
But here’s the thing…
While binge-watching, I kept asking myself:
What’s keeping me hooked?
Why do I keep hitting “Next Episode”?
The answer’s simple: Stories.
Think about it.
Successful people, entrepreneurs, and businesses—they aren’t the best at selling.
But they’re the best at telling stories.
Phil Knight (Nike’s founder), Tarantino, and McDonald’s.
What do they all have in common?
A story.
Why is MrBeast the biggest YouTuber out there?
Is it because he’s the most charismatic influence?
No.
It’s because he knows how to tell a story that keeps you watching.
And while stories come in different shapes:
Movies.
Books.
Speeches.
And even casual conversations.
The underlying structure is always the same:
A story that connects deeply and keeps you hooked.
So if you want to hook an audience, dig deep and find your story.
